- Today I am thankful for my voice. • • • #armmewith faith. Faith in God. Faith in humanity. And faith in my students. • • • Hope. Hope in the world and hope that things will be changed that need to be changed. Hope that my students will grow up to be loving and caring. • • • Love. Love for my students. So that they know there is always someone in their corner. • • • Courage. Courage to use my voice. To speak up. To speak out. • • • Knowledge. Knowledge to help my students cope with the anxieties and craziness of this world we live in. • • • Resources. The resources to help my students that have troublesome times. That may not have the easiest life. • • • Patience. Patience for my students. Sometimes it’s easy to lash out at them. When I’m having a bad day. When they’re having a bad day. Arm me with the patience I need to take a step back and look at the situation before I react.

- It’s another day Wooh 🎉 The weather is actually really nice here today 🤔☺️ I still haven’t decided on a book, surprise surprise 😩 and if I keep doing that I won’t have to because I won’t be able to finish it in time anyway😂 But I’m getting my hair cut today and I’m so nervous 😭 I love my long hair and I’m scared she’ll cut off too much but at the same time she won’t because it’ll be so much easier to handle 😣 does anyone else always want to cry when their hair gets cut off? Please tell me I‘m not alone

- “They knew nothing of guilt. They were not mothers.” - Ruth (Emma Flint, Little Deaths) •• “It’s the summer of 1965, and the streets of Queens, New York shimmer in a heatwave. One July morning, Ruth Malone wakes to find a bedroom window wide open and her two young children missing. After a desperate search, the police make a horrifying discovery.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #BookReview This novel didn’t play out at all how I thought it would. I was expecting a more investigative angle into what happened to Ruth’s children; instead it was an investigation into Ruth, an examination of her character. •• I was absorbed in the haunting, melancholy tone, and throughout the entire read, this continued to be my favourite thing about the novel. I did find it quite slow in parts though. •• Ruth was an interesting character, it was clear that she was “broken,” her self-loathing and pain was so evident, but I couldn’t decide if I thought she was innocent or not and so while I wanted to show her compassion, I was reluctant to, just in case she was guilty. •• The ending to this novel was very clever, and unexpected. Little Deaths has a slow pace and I think it’s a book you’re meant to take your time with, absorb slowly, and stay thinking about afterwards – and that’s exactly what I did. I think this book with appeal to fans of Literary Fiction, rather than those looking for a Psychological Thriller. Yes, there is a mystery here, but it is not central to what this novel is conveying, and if you can get on board with that, I think you’ll really enjoy this one, as I did. •• Shoutout to @theveganlibrarian for budding reading this one with me! ❤️

- "We were not made to please princes." - Leigh Bardugo As I was reading this book, I loved every story equally until I got to 'When Water Sang Fire.' That one. The one tucked in at the end of the book became my favorite.  In this story, I found myself relating to the main character named Ulla. She was different and I won't spoil the why for you but she was ostracized for being odd and despised for being more powerful than the others. Ulla finds she doesn't follow the crowd and dreams of other things. I can relate. I wish this story was longer. And, yet, at the same time, I'm glad it wasn't. It is a short, dark, twisted tale that stirs the heart and mind in a way that only fairy tales can. I have no doubt that Leigh Bardugo could rise to the occasion to make 'When Water Sang Fire' epic as a novel but there is something about fairy tales that enchant us and leave their mark on us as short campfire stories. Any longer and you risk the spell being broken? Have you read The Language of Thorns? Do you have a favorite tale? #allthebooksfeb Fairytales #readwritefeb Best Tip for Revising? . . - ✨A Wrinkle In Time✨ Just finished reading this awesome book. 📚 I make a point of reading the novel before the 🎥 is released because I like to see the story through the author's eyes before Hollywood's edits. 😊 It will be in theaters March ninth. Have you seen the trailer yet? ✨ By the way, I did every thing I could to get my sparkly glitter shoes in this shot. 😂 Glitter makes everything better. 😂 . . . #awrinkleintime #bookbeforemovie #readthebook #amreading #greatconcept #iwasntready #disneymovies #disney #lovetoread #bookaddict #addictedtoreading #readmore #instawriters #booktomovie #waltdisneystudios #waltdisney #greatcast #oprah #oprahwinfrey #reesewitherspoon #mindykaling #chrispine #stormreid #avidreader #bookgeek #booknerd #auriblestauthor #glittershoes
